Cape Retaining Systems
The technical staff at CRS can guide customers towards the most economic and suitable Terraforce retaining block for specific retaining problems. CRS also offers the services of selected approved retaining wall contractors for professional quotations and installations of retaining blocks.
By using these recommended contractors the public has peace of mind that his or her contract will be carried out professionally as recommended by the original licensee of that particular product used, and that the contractor will give a proper guarantee for any come backs that could occur.
All the recommended contractors have a minimum of ten years experience in the retaining wall field. CRS can also offer assistance with the design of a retaining wall for municipality submission.

The original business was established to produce and erect pre-cast concrete walling. In 1992 the business was restructured to become a manufacturing supplier rather than a service provider, and new products were added to the range. In 1992 the first lintels were produced and a year later the company developed their now well-known pre-stressed “rib and block” suspended flooring system.
Since then new products have been developed regularly including stair and step systems, pre-stressed fencing posts and palisades, kerbing and water channels and other concrete products. At the end of 2002 Port Shepstone Pre-cast developed a new range of paving and allied products. “What we wanted to do” says Johnny, “was to create something different and of a very high quality. We believe we have achieved our objective”.

A qualified civil engineering technician (T4 Civil) with an IMM, Ferraris has been involved in the construction industry since 1987, first with Grinaker Precast and then Echo Floors as sales and marketing manager and as general manager of Smartstone Midrand. At Grinaker Precast he was responsible for the intellectual property of the company’s products, including retaining blocks and stadium seating.
Ferraris has a long association with the Concrete Manufacturers Association (CMA) where he has held the positions of vice president for both the paving and the crb divisions. ReMaCon Products is also licensed to market two TERRAFORCE crb ranges, the L11 in smooth face and the L18 in split face finish, as well as the erosion control systems, Terrafix 120 blocks, and the Terracrete grass block.
There is a trend in the industry demanding better quality as well as a more professional approach to retaining wall block structures.
