As we enter another year of the Covid saga, we hold thumbs tightly that there will be a turnaround of lockdowns, curfews and any other restrictions placed on industries and life in general.

For us, business has mostly continued as normal, but tougher than before, within the confines that the Pandemic placed on us as a business. Luckily retaining walls are mostly indispensable, especially ones that are versatile, technically established and proven over more than 40 years and lastly, fully plantable and durable.

In order to build a new addition to the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre, Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada, that included the Cariboo Autism Centre in 2014, an old retaining wall needed to be torn down, moved back and replaced. The new wall colours created the maximum space required for the extra building “foot print” on the property. (more…)

Lonavala is a beautiful town and hill station in the Pune district of the Indian state of Maharashtra.  Close to Bombay, many wealthy locals from there build their holiday homes in the lush green hills of the area. The terrain is rocky and steep, ideal for the application of Terraforce retaining walls, made in Mumbai by official Terraforce suppliers in India. The owner of a new holiday home in the region liked the rustic look of the Terraforce L15 IT blocks and gave the go-ahead to the landscape architects, Retiwala & Associates to use the system to stabilise cut slopes behind the house.  (more…)

Terraforce in Namibia. It has been exactly 20 years ago that Namwall took over the Terraforce license in the extreme climate of Namibia. For some 5 years before July 1993, two other companies had taken on the Terraforce license, and failed. Bryan Newby and his wife Linda had to overcome the reservations that had built up in the market and prevailed against many odds.
