Terraforce L range - split face

Terraforce pioneered the reversible hollow interlocking blocks that are unmatched in their versatility, both in application and elevation. They can ALL IN ONE SYSTEM, offer:

•  Smooth round face blocks - the block is stack with rounded side to the front

•  Smooth straight face blocks - the block is stacked with the straight side to the front

•  Split straight face blocks - The block is stacked with the rock face straight side to the front

How is this achieved?

Blocks are machine made with a mould box that produces two blocks back to back and in one piece. After curing the blocks can be left as twins (attached to one another) for heavy mass gravity walls that require extra strength.

Alternatively the blocks can be split apart with a hydraulic splitter that works rather like a guillotine. Thus two blocks with an attractive natural looking broken appearance are made. By adding pigment colour or multicoloured stone aggregate into the original concrete mix, this natural appearance can be further enhanced to blend in with your environment.

The third option is to insert a drawplate or separator into the mould box and make two separate perfectly smooth blocks with every machine cycle. These blocks then have one rounded face (for a scalloped elevation) and one straight face (for straight, smooth walls. Needless to say, all options interlock in the same reliable fashion, are open at the bottom to allow for root penetration ( where planting of the blocks is considered ) while allowing free drainage. The installed blocks present a closed vertical face to offer the following advantages:

  • Maximum constructed mass
  • Backfill spillage eliminated
  • Effective backfill compaction
  • Filter membrane backing Immediately behind the blocks not required in most cases, provided that the usual coarse drainage layer has been specified.
