Bayer Trophy (Premier Award)

Every two years the Concrete Manufacturers Association celebrates this event in recognition of high standards in quality and aesthetics. In the division Retaining Block Walls Terraforce romped home with four of the five regional and national awards, and for the third time running, the Bayer Trophy (Premier Award) was also won.

The winning project: Cielo Nel Capo:
The rugged site and difficult access conditions required a number of creative stabilising measures. Some fairly conventional plant supportive terraces were installed at the lower end of the property. Due to the clayey and at times water logged soil conditions, additional backfill reinforcement with woven geofabrics was required. Near the house an almost 6m high vertical, smooth faced wall of 305m² was constructed within 37 working days.
